Alex has been involved with horses since she began riding at 4 years old. She took her first working student role at age 12, and turned professional right at 18. Alex has worked for a number of top programs in California, including Meadowgrove Farm and Karen Healy Stables. 

In addition to her equine experience, Alex has spent the last 15 years working as an executive at high tech start ups. Her focus was on recruiting and general operations. She occasionally offers consulting work for up and coming companies. 

Currently, Alex is focused on Black Dog Equine full time, but still does some riding and teaching as show/vacation coverage for trainers in the bay area. She also competes with her personal horse VaZoom in Eventing. Currently, “Zoom” is going at the 2* level, and we’re excited to move up!
