Why Choose Us?
We have the experience.
With more than 20 years of professional riding and training experience with top level programs, we have a unique understanding of the demands placed on show horses, and have previous success in managing these special animals.
We speak rider.
Most often a rider is going to be the first to feel when there are changes in a horse’s way of going. Explaining a subtle change on a particular lead, resistance on one side, or any of the other small things felt when riding can be challenging to explain. When a rider is encountering new resistance or change in behavior, we want to know. Our previous experiences help translate those feelings into actionable therapies.
We have the education.
In addition to years of practical experience, formal education in anatomy and physiology enables us to connect “feel” and science. Black Dog Equine’s owner and practitioner was a Registered Veterinary Technician and is working towards re-licensure.
We believe in long term tracking.
Detailed notes & diagrams are kept on every session and are accessible online at any time by the persons responsible for the horse’s care. By taking a long view, we can see changes in a horse's range of motion over time. We love to show improvements, but this practice also can highlight areas of potential concern early.
